Our Duty to Creative Talent

Our Maker Life is dedicated to showcasing and uplifting the work of makers and creatives from around the world. With over 100,000 followers across social media and hundreds at our immersed live events, we value collaboration while also respecting the creative rights of the artists we feature. As a repost predominant social media and annual live event brand, we prioritize the protection of intellectual property and offer the following Creative Commons guidelines:

1. License

All content shared by Our Maker Life including event media, educational materials, and social media content, falls under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. This allows:

  • Sharing: Content may be copied and redistributed for non-commercial purposes, with appropriate credit given.

However, the following terms apply:

  • Attribution: You must provide appropriate credit to both Our Maker Life and the original artist whose work we feature. Proper credit includes tagging us @ourmakerlife and the original artist, linking to their profile or website when applicable.

  • NonCommercial: Our content, and that of the artists we feature, cannot be used for commercial purposes without explicit permission from both Our Maker Life and the original creator.

  • NoDerivatives: Any remixes, adaptations, or derivative works of our reposted content are prohibited without prior consent from the original artist and Our Maker Life.

2. Respecting Artist Creative Rights

As a repost predominant social media account, we take the creative rights of artists seriously. The following guidelines protect both Our Maker Life and the creators we feature:

  • Artist Permission: We only repost content from artists and makers with proper credit and, when applicable, permission. If you see your work on our account and would prefer not to have it featured, please contact us, and we will remove it promptly.

  • Originality: We expect all makers and artists we feature to post original content or provide clear credit if they’re sharing someone else’s work.

  • Content Reposts: By allowing Our Maker Life to share your work, you give us permission to feature your content on our platforms, but we will always give you full credit. Your intellectual property rights remain intact.

3. Event Content Usage

  • For Makers and Creators: We encourage attendees and makers within the Our Maker Life community to share their experiences and projects on social media, using our hashtag #ourmakerlife and tagging us @ourmakerlife. Be sure to credit any other artists or collaborators involved.

  • For Press and Media: Media and bloggers are welcome to cover Our Maker Life events, but must give credit to both Our Maker Life and the artists whose work is featured. For commercial or exclusive content requests, please connect with us via email.

4. Commercial Use and Collaborations

To ensure proper protection of creative work, any commercial use of Our Maker Life content or that of featured artists requires explicit permission. This includes content used for marketing, sponsorships, or collaborations. For such inquiries, please connect with us via email us to discuss licensing or partnership opportunities.

5. Content Rights and Ownership

  • Artist Content: Any content featured on Our Maker Life remains the intellectual property of the original artist. We do not claim ownership over the creative work we repost, and all credit remains with the creator.

  • Event Media: Official media created by Our Maker Life at events (photos, videos, etc.) remains our property, and we may use it for promotional or commercial purposes, with respect for any featured artists.

  • User-Generated Content: By allowing Our Maker Life to share your content or tagging us in your posts, you grant us permission to feature your work on our platforms, while retaining full credit for your creativity.
